PHLEBOTOMY TECHNICIAN COURSE DESCRIPTION
PHLEBOTOMY TECHNICIAN COURSE REQUIREMENTS (Due before the 1st day of class):
Phlebotomists are medical professionals trained to draw blood through venipuncture for the purposes of testing, research, donations, and more. Phlebotomists are able to work in hospitals, blood banks, doctors offices and other medical facilities that are in continuous need of phlebotomists who carry proper training and certification. To obtain the required Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) credentials, individuals must qualify for and pass an exam given by a nationally recognized CPT certification board.
In this course you will learn how to obtain blood and stool specimens, obtain urine specimens, perform venipuncture (drawing blood) and capillary sticks (finger sticks), point of care testing, safety and infection prevention techniques. Students are also taught how to obtain vital signs, CPR, and First Aid. This course is a 64 clock hour course of instruction and upon successful completion students will be able to sit for national testing with NHA (National Healthcareer Association) or NCCT (National Center for Competency Testing).

PHLEBOTOMY TECHNICIAN COURSE PRICING
The cost of all Phlebotomy courses is $950 with a $400 deposit which goes towards your tuition. Included in the tuition is CPR, First Aid, TB skin test, supplies, liability insurance and textbooks (if not attending online). If you are not able to pay the entire tuition up front you will be placed on our payment plan, with payments made by invoice or automatic draft/payments. Tuition must be paid in full before the course ends. Please note that there is a $150 non-refundable application fee for all programs of study at GTC.

If you would like to register for our Phlebotomy course, you may begin by clicking the payment button below. Please be sure to register for the desired course whether in person (Traditional) or online (Blended Learning). Once your payment is made we will begin sending you enrollment forms to complete. If you are unable to pay the full tuition you may pay a deposit and be placed under the GTC Payment Plan. Full payments receive a $100 dollar discount at checkout. Phlebotomy Technician Course
The Traditional Phlebotomy Technician course is a 4 week in person course that is held Monday through Thursday from 1pm to 5pm. The cost of this course is $950 with a $400 dollar deposit. Students are able to pay their tuition under the GTC payment plan if unable to pay the entire tuition up front. All balances must be paid in full prior to the end of the course.

Phlebotomy Technician Course
The Blended Learning Phlebotomy Technician course is a 4 week hybrid course where studens attend the first 3 weeks online and then come into the school the fourth week, Monday through Friday from 1pm to 4pm or 8am to 12noon for lab skills. (Please see schedule below for exact lab times). The cost of this course is $950 with a $400 dollar deposit. Students are able to pay their tuition under the GTC payment plan if unable to pay the entire tuition up front. All balances must be paid in full prior to the end of the course.

Phlebotomy Refresher Workshop

The Phlebotomy Refresher workshop is up to 4 hours in-person training and review of phlebotomy.
This workshop is for healthcare professionals wishing to return to the field, or refresh on basic knowledge, skills and practice hands on training using training mannequins. Please check the schedule for exact class dates.
Areas of phlebotomy covered in this class include: infection control and safety measures, anatomy, equipment and methods for performing blood withdrawal and labs, and centrifugation. All students will be asked to sign a medical waiver.
Prerequisite
Certificate or Diploma in a medical course completed within at least the past 5 years
US Citizen or valid green card
18 years of age or older
Must provide Phlebotomy, Medical Assistant Certificate or Nurse Diploma
Must pay entire cost of $200 prior to attending class ($50 non-refundable registration fee)
Instructional Model: This class is offered in person and includes a study guide. Participants will demonstrate hands on training using training mannequins.
