Electronic Health Records Specialist (EHR1300)
Georgia Training Center offers a 4 week online certification in Electronic Health Records. This course is a 80 clock hour course of instruction and will be completed strictly online. Upon successfully complete the course will students have met the requirement to take the national certification test with National Health career Association (NHA) to receive a certification as a Certified Electronic Health Records Specialist (CEHRS).
The security, completeness and accuracy of patient data are critical. Some common responsibilities tied to electronic health records include:
Auditing patient records for compliance
Abstracting clinical information for reports
Performing basic coding to submit reimbursement claims
Processing Release of Information (ROI) requests for medical records
Reviewing patient demographic and insurance information
Discussing patient information with physicians and insurance professionals
ELECTRONIC HEALTH RECORD COURSE REQUIREMENTS:
All documents due the Thursday before the 1st day of class
Students must be at least 18 years old with a High School Diploma or GED
Students must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
US Citizen or Valid Green Card
Valid Government Issued ID (Driver’s license)
Social Security Card
The cost of this program will be $700 which includes a deposit of $300.
